Reading this makes me yearn for prayer…not only for my husband…but for it in return. Kristen talks about hearing her name from her husband’s lips in prayer. Doesn’t that sound absolutely incredible? To know that your husband has covered you in prayer. To know he has specifically gone to God over you…for you. To know that he has deliberately thought of you and mentioned you when talk to God. I bet he would enjoy the same favor. To be covered in prayer by his wife. To know that whatever he may face today…he has already been prayed through it. Powerful.
What a great challenge for us as working moms. A blessing. Yes, sometimes I pray over my family on my way to work…but I need to get up 5 minutes earlier, even 2 minutes earlier…and spend extra time dedicated to just prayer. Specific prayer. For my husband. I want him to know that I am lifting him up in prayer every day. How incredible would he feel to know that I was giving up sleep in any quantity for him. Let’s just say that I am not much of a morning person…and that it is a good thing I am the only one up before work…and that this is a fact well-known to my husband (well, my entire family). For him to know that I was choosing to get up even earlier to talk…to pray…to be loving and worshipful–well, I am pretty sure that would knock his socks off.
