I have posted before about the cool educational site called School Sparks. Renee from School Sparks sent me a link to her newest e-book:
It is called “Stepping Stones For Early Readers” and it is filled with information for parents to help their young children become confident and successful readers. The e-book has lots of tips and activity suggestions for parents to try at home with their child to increase his or her reading proficiency and confidence, including a brief explanation of the role of phonic rules and sight words in reading and a summary of the importance of understanding basic punctuation. The e-book also includes 45 pages of free worksheets and games to help children become successful readers, including: 92 sight word flashcards, 96 easy-to-read sentences filled with common sight words, 10 interactive word family “sliders” to help children learn familiar letter combinations like “-at” and “-ing” and 10 sight word bingo cards.
In addition to the Early Readers book, you will find hundreds of free worksheets to print for your kids. These are great for parents and teachers. If you feel guilty about not being able to do as much educational activities with your kids, these are a great resource. They are perfect for a fun weekend activity, too.
